A New Year. A New Beginning for Israel’s Children.

When the other kids at the Kanot youth village head out for the summer, Gaia stays. She’s up early, before the heat settles in, walking out to the barn to check on the cows — the same cows that will be waiting for her in the fall, and the fall after that. The cows need her every morning, and she shows up every morning.

Now the classrooms are filling again, and soon the shofar will sound. Rosh Hashanah asks us to look honestly at the year ahead and consider who will be sustained in it. For Gaia and hundreds of children like her in our villages, the answer depends on all of us.

That’s the truth about this work: it isn’t a single summer or a single semester. It’s every summer, every school year, every year. As you enter the New Year, we ask you to help us sustain it. A gift of $300 makes a meaningful difference in the life of a child like Gaia, and your support goes where it’s needed most — across our youth villages, across every season.
