Meet a Member Friday: Bobbie Babbit

Each Friday, we shine a light on the incredible women who make NA’AMAT USA what it is — in their own words.

Every story reminds us why NA’AMAT is so powerful: a sisterhood built by women, for women, uniting generations through compassion, leadership, and purpose.

Meet Bobbie Babbit!

“In 1981, I was chosen to participate in NA’AMAT’s leadership program along with 15 other women nationwide. We spent three unforgettable weeks traveling throughout Israel, visiting NA’AMAT installations and seeing our work in action. It was one of the most meaningful experiences of my life.”

Years later, I served on the National Board as Midwest Area Coordinator, visiting clubs and meeting so many wonderful women dedicated to NA’AMAT USA.

I joined the Aviva Club of Pioneer Women as a young mother in Chicago’s northwest suburbs. We were a group of young women with young children, eager to make a difference. I became treasurer, later served twice as president, and now proudly serve as the tribute card chairwoman.

Over the years, our club has built many beloved traditions—from our lox box fundraiser and long-running book club to theatre outings and white elephant nights. We meet twice a month for friendship, learning, and connection, and during the winter we gather on Zoom so even our snowbirds can join.”

Thank you, Bobbie!

Every member’s story is a reminder that NA’AMAT is more than an organization. It’s a movement of women lifting one another up, building bridges between continents, and ensuring that every woman and child can live with dignity, security, and hope.
