PLAY it FORWARD

Today, as tension over Israel simmers in our communities, we at NA’AMAT USA choose to focus on hope and repair. We are launching a mission to aid in the healing process for traumatized children in Israel by renovating ten NA’AMAT daycare center playgrounds. These playgrounds provide safe, supportive environments where play encourages healing, resilience, and emotional well-being.

Your contribution to our $250,000 goal—$25,000 per playground, can provide a sanctuary of joy and safety for children amidst the conflict.

For “Sarah”, a single mother struggling amidst the disruptions of war, her NA’AMAT daycare center isn’t just a place for her son, “David”, to learn and grow—it’s a lifeline. With your help, we can transform the center’s playground into a vibrant space where David and his friends can laugh, play, and heal.

The Role of Safe Play Spaces

As highlighted in a recent report from the American Academy
of Pediatrics, safe play spaces play a critical role in promoting resilience and reducing the impact of stress, especially in children facing trauma and anxiety. Numerous studies affirm the significance of play in fostering resilience and alleviating the effects of trauma, anxiety, and stress, especially in children:

Play may help regulate stress response systems and promote neuroplasticity, thereby facilitating recovery from trauma¹

Play intervention can promote resilience among children and adolescents facing various forms of adversity, including trauma, abuse, and displacement, and buffer their negative effects²

This summer, show up for Israelis in a way that counts. Please consider donating $180 or an amount meaningful for you, helping us reach our goal before summer’s end. Together, we can ensure that children in Israel have access to a safe and enriching environment where they can thrive, creating a better today AND tomorrow.

Please consider making a generous contribution today. Your support is more critical now than ever before.

100% of your donation will support these renovations.

Why Playgrounds?

Safe Environment: A well-designed playground offers a safe and secure environment where children can engage in play without fear, helping them feel physically and emotionally secure.

Physical Activity: Playgrounds encourage physical activity, which releases endorphins and reduces stress hormones, promoting overall well-being and relaxation.

Expression and Creativity: Playgrounds provide opportunities for children to express themselves and explore their feelings in a non-verbal way. Through imaginative play, they can process their experiences and emotions.

Social Interaction: Playgrounds facilitate social interaction and peer support, allowing children to connect with others who may have similar experiences. This sense of camaraderie can foster a sense of belonging and reduce feelings of isolation.

Sense of Control: Engaging in play empowers children by giving them a sense of control over their environment and choices, which can be especially beneficial for those who have experienced trauma.

Distraction and Relaxation: Playgrounds offer a distraction from distressing thoughts and memories, allowing children to focus on the present moment and experience moments of joy and relaxation.

Resilience Building: By overcoming challenges and obstacles on the playground, children develop resilience and coping skills that can help them navigate future difficulties.

Yes, you CAN buy happiness!

THEY HAD LESS THAN ONE MINUTE TO FIND SAFETY.

YOU CAN HELP IN LESS THAN FIVE.

Staff and children huddle together in a safe room at a NA’AMAT daycare center. The daily air-raid sirens and ever-present threat of rocket attacks feed anxiety and insecurity that is profoundly disturbing for the children. Can you spare five minutes to help?
