Impact Update in Israel

POSTED:

We Did it! Big Updates from the Emergency Caregiver Relief Fund

When we put out the call, you answered.

In just a few weeks, the NA’AMAT USA community came together to send $302,763 for the Emergency Caregiver Relief Fund. These funds were sent directly to Israel as stipends for caregivers who have been on the front lines of an unprecedented crisis, forced to shelter in place without pay due to war.

These are the women caring for children whose parents have been called up for reserve duty. The women supporting families displaced from their homes in the north and south. The women who showed up, and kept showing up, even when their own lives were upended.

Your generosity made sure they didn’t do it alone. The funds allowed them to stay afloat for the 40 days of shutdown, until the daycares were allowed to reopen on April 9.

From our staff in Israel:

“We’ve made it! We managed to open the NA’AMAT Centers this morning with zero preparation time… The transition from the lockdown and shelters, to functioning at maximum is challenging, but the joy of the children and the parents this morning was worth the effort. It’s fun to be back, it’s fun to hug the children and just to keep the peace, and the routine is so blessed.” (translated)

What your dollars did:

Every dollar raised went toward direct stipends for caregivers working in NA’AMAT’s network in Israel, providing financial relief to our caregivers just in time for the first Seder. $302,763.  Sent in full.

This is NA’AMAT.

Since 1925, we have believed that solidarity isn’t a slogan, it’s something you do. What our community demonstrated over these past few weeks is exactly that spirit in action. Thousands of individual acts of generosity adding up to something that changes lives.

To every donor, sharer, phonebanker, and champion of this campaign — thank you. You are why NA’AMAT USA exists.

With gratitude and pride,
The NA’AMAT USA Team
