NA’AMAT’s Anonymous Hotline for Women in Israel
When women in Israel face moments of crisis — whether domestic abuse, trauma, divorce, custody battles, or financial hardship — one phone call can change everything. For thousands of women, that call is to the NA’AMAT Crisis Hotline.
What Makes Our Hotline Unique
Unlike most other hotlines in Israel, NA’AMAT’s hotline is entirely anonymous. Women can reach out without fear of exposure or repercussions, creating a safe environment in their most vulnerable moments.
Calls are answered by trained social workers who provide immediate guidance. When ongoing support is needed, specialized professionals — legal advisors, social workers, or therapists — follow up with sensitivity and discretion. Sometimes, the first call isn’t from the woman herself but from a concerned friend or family member. Every case is handled with the same care and confidentiality.
Meeting Rising Needs in Times of Crisis
- After the tragic events of October 7, 2023, calls to the hotline surged by 45%.
- In May 2025, during the war with Iran, NA’AMAT launched two additional hotlines to reach vulnerable women in new communities.
- With emergency funds from NA’AMAT USA, we expanded staffing and hours to ensure that no call went unanswered.
This responsiveness is a lifeline for women who may have nowhere else to turn.
More Than Crisis Response
The hotline isn’t just about immediate help — it’s also a tool for systemic change. By analyzing call data, NA’AMAT identifies trends in domestic abuse, trauma, and family stress. These insights fuel advocacy, shape legislation, and guide public awareness campaigns to better protect women and families.
Free, Accessible Support
Every woman deserves access to safety. That’s why the first round of counseling after a hotline call is free, removing financial barriers at a time when women may feel trapped and powerless.
