The Next Chapter of Women’s Safety
In the Torah, Rachel and Leah are promised, exchanged, desired, overlooked.
Their lives are shaped by the decisions of men, and their voices barely appear in the text.
And yet,
From these two women comes an entire people.
From the margins, they forge a future.
These women created what did not yet exist, a future that becomes a nation.
That is the story of NA’AMAT.
For a hundred years, women forged the systems that held people on October 7.
The early NA’AMAT pioneers built the physical and social infrastructure of a country struggling toward possibility. They understood that safety and dignity are not abstract ideals –
they must be built.
On October 7, those systems, forged across a century of determined feminist labor, became lifelines.Daycare centers became stability for displaced families.Counselors walked into trauma unfolding in real time.
Schools and centers absorbed women fleeing violence in the midst of national catastrophe.
A nationwide network mobilized instantly because our infrastructure was already there.
What stood that morning was not accidental.
It was built by women who believed Israel must be an egalitarian society and who did the work to make it real.
Now, as the frontier of violence shifts, NA’AMAT is forging new ways to protect and empower.
Today, women face not only physical and emotional abuse, but digital forms of control that invade their phones, relationships, finances, and sense of security.
Violence is evolving.
So we forge what’s next.
NA’AMAT is advancing the next generation of women’s safety and agency — including the digital frontier:
• protecting women from tech-enabled abuse
• expanding digital literacy and autonomy
• advocating for women’s rights and dignity
• promoting empowerment through technology
This is the work of women who refuse to accept the world as it is handed to them – women who, like Rachel and Leah, transform constraint into creation.
Today, the systems that threaten women look different: encryption, location tracking, deepfakes, AI manipulation, digital surveillance.
Violence has evolved.
And so must we.
NA’AMAT is meeting this frontier with clarity and resolve and forging the next generation of tools women will need to stay safe, rebuild, and thrive in a world where safety must exist both in our streets and on our screens.
Violence is evolving. Our response must, too. Donate today to help NA’AMAT forge the future of women’s safety and resilience in Israel.
