The Annual NA’AMAT Scholarship Ceremony took place last Monday with the participation of Galia Wolloch, President NA’AMAT Israel, Masha Lubelsky, President NA’AMAT Scholarship Fund, Prof. Hanna Naveh from Tel Aviv University, Head of the committee for research grants in gender studies, and Prof. Shosh Arad, President Ruppin Academic Center, Head of the committee for research grants in Science.
An article recently appeared the Jerusalem Post regarding Police Commissioner Roni Alsheich’s statements on sexual harassment. Galia Wolloch, President of NA’AMAT, commented on this issue by saying that “she was shocked to hear Alsheich’s statements.
NA’AMAT is planning a campaign and a public struggle to improve the status and employment terms of the caregivers (Metaplot) in our day care centers.
The salaries of the caregivers are fixed by the government ministry. Most of them earn minimum wage.

Operation Protective Edge
Despite the recent hope that there might be a cease-fire, rockets have continued to rain down in southern Israel and as well as in Tel Aviv, Jerusalem and Haifa. The first Israeli civilian casualty was announced July 15. NA’AMAT Israel has been systematically checking on our 233 Day Care Centers, located all over Israel, to determine the extent of the need to reinforce our facilities and safeguard our children and caregivers.
On September 1st, NA’AMAT expanded its Day Care Centers with its NEW Ramleh center opening with three state-of-the-art classrooms and 77 wonderful children! We wish them much success! See PHOTO GALLERY. Click “continue reading”!
On August 4th in the evening NA’AMAT held a very special event at Safra Square in Jerusalem with the participation of close to 3,000 NA’AMAT workers and volunteers from all over the country! The event was intended to say “THANK YOU” to all our devoted care givers in the Day Care Centers and all the staff and volunteers.
