Babi Yar is a ravine in the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv and the site of the largest mass shooting in one location perpetrated by Nazi Germany’s forces during its campaign against the Soviet Union in World War II. The massacre took place over two days, September 29 and 30, 1941, killing 33,771 Jews.
